100% Tintilia from a 4ha vineyard located in the comune (municipality) of Monteroduni, at 560m above sea level, with a soil composed mostly of clay. Tintilia is a low-yielding grape that offers good acidity and structure, and is almost exclusively grown in Molise. The DOC was created recently, in 2011. The grapes are harvested at the end of October. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and the malolactic fermentation and aging in mostly second use French oak (Forest of Tronçais) barrels, for 24 months. Complex and elegant aromas of ripe red fruits, with notes of licorice and vanilla. 14% alcohol. 1666 cases produced.
